Published Works

I am an eclectic writer, just as I am an eclectic reader. To date I have published 5 volumes of poetry (two of which include  some flash fiction) and 3 historical (military history) articles. I have in process a mystery novel, a steam punk adventure, a high fantasy novel, a collection of short stories, more poetry, and more military history.

Winter

A soft snow fell
Gentle, delicate, covering everything in a fine white.
The bare trees became stunning,
The empty flower beds were now clean and attractive,
And no noise penetrated the stillness
At the window, the cat seemed mesmerized
By the flakes falling, swirling a bit,
Before adding their tiny bit to the blanket.
But then he yawned, turned three times,
Plopped into a ball and promptly
Began to sleep it all off.

The poem above is simply one for the season now outside my window. At least the memory of past winters. In my poetry you will see a variety of styles; I like to play with the form, the meter, the theme. You will find themes of nature, history, politics, sports, emotion, and many others. You will find free verse, rhymed verse, haiku, and even a sonnet. 
Likewise the short stories (intermixed in  Scenes) show a variety of topics and styles. There are a couple whimsical pieces of parenting and childhood, a more serious piece inspired by the news, a science fiction, a "thriller", and even a "ghost story". Take your time, browse about and enjoy!
